Some Feedback:
‘thanks for the new schizzle. The Davis Borsu is really strong, Navasha’s vox work really well. The tune’s in my head already. Mark’s version hot and warm if that makes any sense’
Richard E (Further Out)
Featuring the lovely vocals of Fertile Ground’s leading lady Navasha Daya, on this release David mixes together touches of disco, funk and electro and the result is one of those tunes that you hear and then spend the next five hours trying to think what it was (as though it was a release from back in the day that you used to play). Knowingly ‘old school’ with the right components for today’s floors also, it comes complete with a ‘Bruckcells’ broken beat version, an acappella plus two versions from Mr. programmer himself Mark De Clive Lowe. For me it’s the original album version that does the trick!
David Colkett (Sound Barrier, Italy)
The original of David Borsu is excellent and the MDCL mix takes it even further. Defiantly an early contender for tune of the year for me!
Gareth Stephens (Askew Recodings)
Killer once again… Slightly a different style from his previous more jazz orientated release, but still a bomb…Love this guy…
Manu Boubli (Mind Records / Comet Records)
David’s music is reaching a very interesting status. Live bass is so infectious that only Navasha’s voice competes with its powerful groove. Mark de Clive Lowe’s remix is tight and keeps growing at every listening. London boogie in pure effect. Radio and club play for sure. I need this piece of vinyl.
Rui Torrinha (Cooltronica/FUM Portugal)
“Move” is a dynamic, soulful piece of a (broken) Hymne. Big!”
Peter Hagen (Jazzriots, Germany))
a quick one to let you knwo that your remix for david borsu’s “move” is rocking my headphones at the moment and will surely set the dancefloor on fire tonite in the club. premier class remix business. wow!
Michael Rutten (Soulsearching, Germany)
.Original is ok, both mixes by David are a good move by him but Mashi did smashi! Will play at co-op 5th birthday.Cool, thanks for this.
Domu
Lovin the broken feel on the bruckells mix which works well for me. MDC also provides a more downtempo version which works for the radio. The acca is also a wicked tool!
Soy Mustafa (Shack Music/House FM, London)
original and Mark de Clive Lowe versions pedestrian in comparison to the fast and loose broken beats which run riot in the Brukcells mix.
Kingsley Marshall (IDJ/ Leftfield column)
Wicked Prince vibe on the original!! Nice production & strong vocals -the least we can expect from Navasha Daya.
The Brukcells mix & the MdCL mix & instrum are both great too. With strong vocals you can’t fail with MdCL supplying the backing track! Nice keyboarsd on the Brukcells mix aswell.
John Cunningham (Undercover Magazine/Here & Now Recordings)
Proper boogie choon. Borsu is just gonna nice up them dancefloors with this sucka. Just put the needle at the start and watch faces & bodies light up.
Sammy Gouldbourne (New Style Radio, Birmingham, UK)
Thanks for the tracks.
We really dig the David Borsu-track “Move”. Actually is the best promo received this month! We will play both original and Mark’s remix.
SUMO (Sweden)
broken beat madness. marks mix a lil’ more smoothed out, but perfect.
Michael Stukes (WUCR, Harlem, NY)
LUV MARK’S REMIX VERY DANCE FLOOR FRIENDLY, WE NEED MORE MUSIC LIKE THIS IN 2006!!
Paul Gamblin (Black & Blue radio show, Australia)
Do it like this and Counterpoint is gonna be the label of 2006. Hard to decide which version I like the most. But the whole thing storms my charts.
Rene Josquin (De Bug, Germany)
Just love it. The album version fits just fine into the funky elctronic stuff – even at the more mainstream places. It will appear on my charts.
Katrine Ring (Vibezone, Denmark)
Will pitch it to XLR8R on the next go around. Will chart this one on my Soundscapes chart Will play on the show again soon I’ve played the MdCL mix, but both the original and the broken mix are signs of a confident producer showing no signs of slowing down.8/10
Velanche (Soundscapes radio/XLR8)
Broken remix master of the moment Mark de Clive-Lowe supplies a couple of super remixes, where inquisitive keys, oddball synths and crunchy beats work their magic.
Jon Freer (Mosoul, UK)
13. David Borsu: Move (Counterpoint) Mark De Clive Lowe drops yet another fantastic remix. Watch out for him in 2006, as there is no end to this mans talents.
